Summary (less than 100 words):
The Story of success states that success is made up of two parts, opportunity and legacy. Opportunity presents its self and it’s those who grasp these opportunities that succeed. Hard work also plays a huge role, it takes approximately 10 000 hours of doing something to master it. Random chances of luck also play a huge role in success. The date you were born on, the location you grew up in and your families heritage are all factors in an individuals success. The book also details the work ethic of the Chinese compared to Americans. Chinese work 3 000 hours in the rice paddies each year and their school system has very short holidays. The American system is very different , students have a long summer break which is very detrimental to the lower class as they do not have the resources the upper class have and they loose a lot during that holiday. The book also highlights the power of communication and how clear communication can be extremely powerful. In summary most successful people have a chain of good luck that places them in the perfect position to be successful.
