Summary (less than 100 words):

Normal People is a story about complex relationship between Connell Waldron and Marianne Sheridan. The story starts in Sligo then moves to Trinity. In high-school Marianne is very anti-social and doesn’t have many friends (She is rich). Connell is ,just like her , a nerd. Connell however has friends and is part of the “popular kids” but in contrast he is lower class. When they both go to Trinity these roles almost reverse and Connell becomes a recluse and focuses mainly on his study while Marianne gets in with the “popular crowd”. The rest of the story covers Mariannes abusive relationships and Connell’s attempts to find a girl like Marianne. Their rollercoaster of a relationship ends with them getting together but then Connell receives an offer to an MFA writing program in NYC. Marianne motivates him to take the opportunity and even though it means her staying behind. The story ends on this indefinite conclusion.
